So I was looking through some old journals and realized pretty quickly that aside from the few times I was tagged, I haven't posted an actual update for about a year now. :'D I figured it was about time that I changed that-- Especially since I'd been wanting to say hello and let you guys know what's been happening in general with me.
I feel like this goes without saying, since my lack of activity on DA says it all, but I haven't been coming around here all too often. Summer was...well, a little confusing, and a bit of a roller coaster for a few reasons, which led to my not being here. I was pretty unmotivated, which affected my drawing and writing (aka I didn't do much of either), and eventually I just stopped trying to keep up with my messages here.
For some weird reason, my motivation's come back now that school's started up again (what are the chances of that?), so even if I might be getting busy, it's time to pull myself together and start posting, and responding, and all that jazz! I might be a little slow at first, but if things go as planned, I'll be back in the swing of things in no time.
No doubt school's going to be keeping me busy, but since I'm only taking three classes this semester it's also going to be pretty manageable. ...Until October. Because when midterm season rolls around, there's going to be so much to do. OTL But that's what I get for signing up for 3rd/4th year level courses, so big workload is pretty much guaranteed.
Anyways, enough about school (though if you have questions or anything you want to talk about, feel free to comment?)--
To kick things off, I'm going to give that OC Kissing Booth thing another try, if anyone remembers that- but when that time comes I'll be posting a new journal, so keep your eyes peeled if you'd be interested in that~
And I've actually been drawing a little bit these past couple of weeks, so, I have a handful of random doodles and wips that I'll probably end up tossing all of that together into a sketch dump at some point too. ...Which might be something to look forward to? Most of it is fan art, now that I think about it, which is a little weird since I usually draw ocs --but it means that you'll get to see what games/shows I've been in to lately. xD
I think that's about all that I wanted to say....so thank you so much for reading! I look forward to reconnecting you guys, and I hope too many people haven't forgotten about me yet hehe~

Hello DA, long time no see! It feels like it's been ages since I've posted anything here - and I'd really like to start again - so I wanted to drop a quick update to say "hello" and say "thank you" to everyone who's still watching this account!

It's going to take me a while
Between family and future plans, life's been really hectic for...well, what feels like a long time now; I haven't been drawing much, so I don't really have anything to post- and although I plan to start posting art more regularly again (//CROSSES FINGERS) my top priority is to work on and improve my writing!
I recently got accepted into Grad school - and while I won't be moving/starting until August-September - I want to make sure I'm at the top of my game!

In other news, I'd really love to get back into RP groups (so if you've got any suggestions, please send them my way! I'd appreciate it!) and I'm actually working on starting a new group myself~ The idea's been kicking around in the back of my head for a few years now, so I figured it was about time to just sit down and do it....though at the current pace I've been able to get things done, it probably won't be going live for at least another couple months. If you're curious about it, feel free to poke me! Otherwise, you can just keep watching this account - I'll make a more formal announcement once we get closer to opening~

Status Update + Sketch Requests [Open!]

Hey all! Long time no see! >v< /
Thanks to anyone who has read this far <3 Now, onto those requests!
Soooooo, in an attempt to keep this momentum and positive energy going, I've decided to open up some sketch requests!
I don't even know when the last time I updated was [answer: too long ago], but thanks to everyone who's stuck around during my accidental/unannounced hiatus!
Anyhow, for all of you who are curious about what's been going on behind the scenes, I thought I'd give a brief summary about why I've been MIA.
In a nutshell, I'm nearing the end of my undergraduate degree: a statement that is basically synonymous with "goodbye free time" and "I have never written so many papers in my life". I...was seriously under-prepared for both these things OTL As a result, school ended up sapping up most of my time and energy, and (during both semesters) I hardly did any writing or drawing. And, pretty quickly, I stopped coming online much at all;;
Fast-forward to summer break: not much has changed.
Even without school to worry about, there's been a lot of family drama and issues popping up. Not all of the them are bad, thank goodness (just stressful), but it's still been eating up all my time and energy. :'D

I'm not sure how long it's going to take (//stares at the intimidating amount of notifs I'll need to work my way through alksdjasd), but I'm planning on finally buckling down and responding to/commenting on most of the things I've missed. ...And okay, there's so much there that I might not be able to respond to everything and I'm not sure how many people would appreciate me commenting on year-old things pfffft, but I'm sure as hell going to make sure I at least drop a comment everything people have done for me while I was gone <3
And although I haven't done much art, I think I'm going to try putting together an art dump or two to show off some of the sketches/doodles I never posted here. Some of the art is probably going to be old (As I write this, I'm looking at some drawings from 2015), but I hope it'll be a fun?? way to jumpstart my account again??
And, of course, one of my top priorities is to reconnect with some old friends that I'd fallen out of touch with (I'm sure you know who you are asldkjasd). I swear, I still appreciate all of you more than I can possibly describe, but....well, you already know how terrible I can be with keeping in touch;;;
In the meantime, I'd like to ask you guys to please keep being patient with me <3 And thank you again for continuing to follow this account even during my absence!

The group is only open for reservations right now, but once we hit our 50 watcher-goal we'll be announcing our official Opening Date! In the meantime, if you're interested, the group has a public Discord server (link provided on the group's front page) where you can ask questions, share character ideas, or just chat!
And although I haven't done much art, I think I'm going to try putting together an art dump or two to show off some of the sketches/doodles I never posted here. Some of the art is probably going to be old (As I write this, I'm looking at some drawings from 2015), but I hope it'll be a fun?? way to jumpstart my account again??

2) Please, please be patient! As I'm sure you're well-aware, I'm not the fastest artist out there. ; v ; And although my motivation is back, I'm still struggling a bit with time. So while the rare or occasional nudge is accepted, badgering is not.
3) Although I'm calling these "sketch requests", I'm not actually sure what the quality will be?? It might even differ between requests. It'll depend on how inspiration strikes me (and how well I think I can draw the character), so before you sign up please be aware that the quality between requests (ex. lineart vs flat colour / chibi vs half-body) may not be consistent!
4) If I don't think I can draw your character, I will have to politely decline. You're always welcome to request something else if this happens!
5) I'm not sure how many people will be interested, but I'm going to start by opening....4 spots? If more people show interest though, I'll definitely consider opening more! ^^
